Use the Subjective for …

1. TIME

When you think, believe, are sure … that something is going to occur you DO NOT use the subjunctive.  On the contrary, when you don’t think, don’t believe, aren’t sure … that something is going to occur, USE the subjunctive.

As a rule of thumb, think of things that you believe to be true as part of the realm of surety, because you think it.
